The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) observed the 101st death anniversary of nationalist and father of Indian journalism, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak at the GUJ headquarters in Panaji on Sunday. GUJ senior member Audumber Shinde lit the ceremonial lamp, along with GUJ president Rajtilak Naik, general secretary Vasudev Pagi, treasurer Kailas Naik, members Prasad Shet Kankonkar and Vitthaldas Hegde to mark the inauguration of the event and paid floral tribute to Lokmanya Tilak. In his address, GUJ general secretary Vasudev Pagi enlightened the gathering on the life and work of Lokmanya Tilak and urged the journalist fraternity to focus more on inculcating positive values in their journalistic life. GUJ president Rajtilak Naik welcomed and proposed the vote of thanks.
