CANACONA
A motorcycle rider from Karwar was injured when his motorcycle and a truck collided with each other on the Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Highway (NH66) at Kolsar-Galgibaga on Saturday afternoon. According to locals, the mishap took place as the truck, which was headed towards Karwar, took a sharp U-turn to return towards Canacona. The truck was in a stationary position, when the motorcycle, also heading towards Karwar, rammed into the rear of the truck.The rider, Nikhil Padwalker of Kinner-Karwar, who was proceeding from the Verna Industrial Estate to his home town, sustained injuries in the mishap.Locals rushed to his aid and a 108 ambulance shifted him to the Canacona Community Health Centre, while a police helped regulate traffic at the site. The injured rider was later shifted to the Hospicio Hospital at Margao for further treatment.
