PWD Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Friday termed the Congress as a communal party and said there is no need for political leaders in Margao to interfere in Hindu religious matters. He was responding to media questions over PWD's assistance to pandals for Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals in Margao, even though these mandals usually set up pandals with their own funds. “The Congress is a communal party. No other party raises questions about Ganesh or Durga festival pandals. Some leaders who have raised this issue should not interfere in Hindu religious matters. If they have any complaint, let them file it,” Kamat said.
