CANACONA
Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Vice-President and businessman Shamba Dessai has been unanimously elected president of the Centro Promoter de Instrucao (CPI), Canacona, one of the oldest educational societies in the State.
The election was conducted under the supervision of a senior and former CPI president Anil Desai and 188 of the 264 eligible members exercised their voting rights to unanimously elect the new committee for 2021-23 in the Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, Char-Rasta premises.
Other committee members elected were Jaiprakash Naik Gaonkar (Vice President), Pundalik alies Guru Naik Gaonkar (Secretary), Vinod Sawant (Joint Secretary), R B S Komarpant (Treasurer), Avind Naik Gaonkar, Premanand Naik Gaonkar, Achiket Desai and Pramod Rane (, Members).
The Committee for General Assembly consists of Rajendra Desai (President), Samrat Bhagat (Vice President), Suraj Bhaireli (Secretary) and Gourish Bhaireli (Joint Secretary).
The CPI is one of seven educational institutes and educational societies in the State who received one-time grants of Rs 25 lakh in 2009 for completing 75 years of its establishment.
