The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized Goa-made liquor worth Rs 47,270 lying in unclaimed bags at the Vasco railway station.According to sources in the South Western Railways (SWR), an RPF team comprising M I Rathod, Dan Singh Meena and Pavan Kumar were on duty at Vasco railway station when they noticed six bags lying unclaimed for quite some time in the station.
They seized six unclaimed bags and examined them. It was found that they were containing 176 liquor bottles estimated to be valued at Rs 47,270.As per procedure, the seized liquor bottles were handed over to excise department officials at Vasco on Monday for further process. Principal Chief Security Commissioner of SWR Alok Kumar and Divisional Railway Manager Arvind Malkhede have appreciated the RPF staff concerned for their timely action and promptness in duty.
