Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar on Tuesday said the State government will soon start training classes to provide skill-based training to youth, to enable them avail jobs opportunities in upcoming projects in Pernem like the international cricket stadium, AYUSH Hospital, international airport at Mopa and Ravindra Bhavan.
Ajgaonkar was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the construction of an E-learning classroom under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by GMR Goa International Airport Limited and GMR Varalakshmi Foundation GMR, in Government Middle school, Mopa-Pernem.
“The government is carrying out development work in Pernem Taluka. The pace was affected a bit due to the Covid pandemic, but the work will start at full pace in the coming days,” he remarked.
He lauded the efforts of Panch members for their selfless work in providing essential items and groceries to the poor and needy during the Covid pandemic.
Others present on the occasion included Mopa Sarpanch Saraswati Naik, Pallavi Raut, Sima Khadpe, Disha Parab, President PTA Arun Naik, Anil Bondre and headmaster Ajit Bhagvey.
