Two schools win Earthian national award

Two Goan schools have won the “Earthian National Award 2021”. This is the seventh consecutive year that Goan schools have excelled in the WIPRO-Earthian Programme. The National winners for the year 2021 are St Joseph’s Educational Institute, Chandor, Salcete and Tudal High School, Tudal, Gaondongrim, Canacona for their projects on Waste Management and Water and Sustainability respectively.

The programme is annually organized by Goa State Council for Science and Technology, Saligao Goa in association with CPR Environmental Education Centre, Chennai.

The winners will be awarded cash prize of Rs 50,000 each by WIPRO Foundation, Bangaluru. In addition, two more schools from Goa, Poira High School, Poira, Bicholim and Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim, Vasco have also been shortlisted at the National Level who will receive special recognition certificate.

Due to the pandemic the “Annual National Award Event of Earthian 2021-22” will be organised virtually on February 12 from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm while the Regional Recognition award ceremony will held on February 16 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
