The Verna Industries Association (VIA) on Saturday handed over infrastructure for the neonatal paediatric SNCU at South Goa District Hospital and donated three e-motorcycles and gym equipment to Verna police, as part of its low-key silver jubilee celebration. "To commemorate this occasion, given the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, safety protocols and constraints, a small function was held on Saturday. Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena and the VIA felicitated Covid-19 warriors, Dr Socorro Quadros and his team from PHC Cortalim,” stated a VIA press note.
The VIA also felicitated the other Covid-19 warriors and Verna Police. Three e-motorcycles and also gym equipment were handed over to Verna PI Sherif Jacques, who accepted them on behalf of the Verna police.
Later, the VIA handed over infrastructure of the neonatal Paediatric SNCU at the South Goa District Hospital to Dr Deepa Correia Afonso and Dr Ira Almeida. “This is VIA's commitment of being part of the solution by partnering with the State government in preparing for the third Covid wave.” The VIA thanked Netzsch Technologies, Schiffer & Menezes, and Albea Betts for their support to VIA to set up the neonatal Paediatric Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at South Goa District Hospital,” the press release added.
