PANAJIThe Green Heritage Eco-Club of St Francis Xavier’s School at Siolim will be organising the 30th annual festival of plants and flowers on August 20, 21 and 22. This year the theme of the festival is 'Biodiversity of vegetables and fruits in the wild', with 'Save our soil' as the sub-theme. There will be an exhibition of plants by the students in the school campus. Students from pre-primary till higher secondary will present different varieties of plants which include flowering, ornamental, cactus, medicinal, vegetable, fruit plants, herbs and exotic plants. Nurseries will put up stalls with plants, garden implements and organic manure. The students will display creative pottery, artefacts and objects made of waste. There will be interschool competitions with the participation of 25 schools. Project competitions on vegetables in the wild, on-the-spot competitions of flower rangoli, grafting of fruit and flowering plants and drawing will also be held.
