PANAJIVedanta’s value-added business received four awards at the national conclave on 5S (workplace management) held by Quality Circle Forum of India at Agnel Institute of Technology and Design. The theme for the conclave this year was ‘5S-A Continual Journey for Business Excellence’ in which around 72 teams participated. Vedanta’s iron ore business has implemented robust workplace management practices at all the operations and most of the company’s facilities are 5S certified, said the company’s press release. 5S is a methodology for creating organised and a highly efficient workspace in a phase wise manner which includes five major steps namely reorganisation, neatness, cleanliness and standardisation. The company has adopted innovative process improvement initiatives.
