CANACONA
Taunting Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar by stating that Canconkars are known for accountability and responsibility, GPCC General Secretary Janardhan Bhandari has asked Tawadkar to come clean on the two-day MLA training at a private hotel.
Reacting sharply to reports that the Goa Legislative Secretary had allegedly failed to provide information to an LAQ as well as to an activist's RTI application, Bhandari appealed to the Speaker and Canacona MLA to come clean in the matter.
“Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar should remember that he is elected by Canconkars and should not indulge in any act which will put Canconkars to shame. If things are done following proper procedure, there is nothing to worry. Let people know the facts and figures,” Bhandari said.
“It is shocking that the Goa Legislative Department first "disallowed" the Legislative Assembly Question tabled by Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao seeking all details of the two-day training session for MLAs at a hotel. Subsequently, a reply to an RTI Application filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues was also denied. Why is the speaker worried,” asked Bhandari.
“Canconcars are known for accountability and responsibility and Tawadkar should not put us to shame. I once again appeal to Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar to immediately give directions to the Public Information Officer of Goa Legislative Department to make all information public,” Bhandari added.
