3-day Science Filmmaking workshop concludes
Around 60 students from various colleges took part in the Science Film making workshop.

Vidnyan Parishad concluded a three-day Science Film making workshop at the Entertainment Society of Goa on Thursday, where about 60 students from various colleges took part. The three-day workshop is a prelude to the seventh Science Film Festival of India. The workshop, held from April 12-14, was led by Rakesh Rao, a photographer, filmmaker, and science enthusiast who specialises in documenting scientific expeditions and research activities. During the workshop's inauguration ceremony, Dr Malapati K Janarthanam, a senior professor at Goa University said, "Goa is home to an incredible number of endemic species, habitats, and ecosystems. Documenting the biodiversity that surrounds us all is crucial because it allows us to better understand the world in which we live and how it is changing". A short film competition was announced at the end of the workshop. Each participant will submit a short science film prior to the festival, which will be evaluated by a jury panel. Awards and prize money will be presented to winning films during the festival.
