Tiatr Academy of Goa celebrated the Birth Anniversary of late Lucasinho Ribeiro, the ‘Pioneer of Tiatr’ on 02nd January, 2021 at the Multipurpose Hall of Directorate of Art & Culture, Patto, Panjim. On this occasion, TAG presented ‘Lifetime Contribution Tiatr Awards 2021 (Non - Commercial)’ to to 5 tiatr personalities Antonio Joaquim Simoes, Manual Francisco Xavier Fernandes , Joaquim Fernandes (Jack De Vasco), Rosario E Botelho and Mariano Lourenco Fernandes and Young Achievers Award to Valency Carmeline D’souza and Richard Colaco for their valuable contribution to tiatr. The award consisted of a memento, citation and cash purse.
The awards were presented at the hands of the Chief Guest Churchill Alemao, MLA of Benaulim Constituency in the presence of Prince Jacob who was Guest of Honour for the function. Speaking on the occasion, Churchill congratulated all the awardees and also TAG for recognizing the work of tiatr artistes. He further said that this is not the stop for them they and they should contribute more to tiatr. Price Jacob said that tiatrists have preserved the culture of Goa. Awardee Rosario E Botelho spoke on behalf of all the awardees. He thanked TAG for recognizing their work and bestowing this award upon them.Menino Fernandes, President of TAG welcomed the guests and Mario Menezes, Vice President of TAG proposed a vote of thanks. The function was compered by well-known tiatr personality Joe Rose. On the ocassion Konkani Musical Show was presented by Jr. Reagan and team.
