The Department of Fisheries in Goa has invited applications from aspirants for a training course in fishing and related activities. The course will be for six months, September 2021 to February 2022, at Ela Dhavji, Old Goa.
Fishing craft and gear, navigation and the basic principles of seamanship, maintenance and running of marine diesel, weaving and repairing modern nets, value-added seafood and its distribution, aquaculture and swimming will be a part of the course. The candidates who have passed Std VIII and are in the age group 18-35 are eligible for admission. Those who come from the fishing community, are OBC or from any other scheduled castes or tribes will be given priority. The last date to send applications is August 30. A stipend of Rs 1,000 will be given to those who take admission for the said course.
