PANAJI: A book, ‘Foundation and History of the Indian Constitution: 1600-1793’, written by late Prof William Coelho will be released after 50 years of his death on January 25 at MMR Hall, St Xavier’s College, Mumbai at 4 pm.
Hosted by Heras Institute of Indian History and Culture, the event is organised by Coelho’s daughters Serena D’Sa, Anita Pinto and Manetta Ingarfield
This book has been meticulously researched with minute details of the laws and practices in force during the first two centuries of British colonial rule. To the research scholars interested in the more distant origins of the Indian Constitution, this would be an invaluable book.
