A robber on a two-wheeler snatched a chain from a woman near the Verna Church on Thursday.
According to sources at the Verna police station, the incident took place as a native of Karnataka but residing at Poriem Bhat was on her way to work at the Verna IDC.
"When she reached near the Verna Church, a person arrived on a bike and stopped next to her at around 6.30 am. He later asked her the time and as she raised her hand to see the watch, he snatched her gold chain worth about Rs 48,000 from her neck and fled from the area," said the source. Verna PSI Pravin Simapuraskar is investigating the case.
