PANAJI: Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) will be felicitating Goan tiatrist and the recent winner of the Sangeet Natak Akademi award John Claro Fernandes on February 13 at 4.30 pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao stated DKA President Vincy Quadros.
Fernandes has raised the banner of Konkani to a greater height at national level. John has received Dalgado Sonskurtik Puraskar. The government of Goa has awarded him Goa State Cultural Award. John is the second tiatrist to receive Sangeet Natak Akademi award after Goan tiatrist M Boyer.
The Quepem resident John started his tiatr career with his first tiatr ‘Camil Botler’ in 1953. A writer of 15 tiatrs, John’s tiatr ‘Purtugez Kolvont’ proved to be the best having staged 200 plus shows.
