United Friends, Panjim will organise 15th All Goa Fishing Competition on October 16 from 10 am onwards at the Captain of Ports Jetty, Panaji. The contest is organised for Goa by United Friends, Alto Guimairaes, Panaji keeping in mind the traditional fishing hobby of Goans which finds much fishing affection in Goan waters, especially during the monsoon season. This year the unique fishing event will have prizes from Rs 7,000, 5,000 and 3,000 as First, Second and Third prizes and a Maximum Catch prize of Rs 2,000. Entry fee is Rs 100 per participant. Participants will have to carry their own equipment, fishing rods, lines, baits, etc. For pre-registration and details contact phone nos - 9822100356, 9822100879. Every year participants and crowds including tourists gather around the Captain of Ports Jetty in a carnavalesque atmosphere and participate in colourful attire and decor. A lot of outside states and international tourists too participate. The prize distribution function will be held immediately after the contest. The event is sponsored by Bharneys and is open to all.
Stalls, contests at GCCI’s Asturi exhibition
