Revolutionary Goans has launched a fogging drive to curb the breeding of mosquitoes across the state. The team will be carrying out fogging in open areas, drains, grounds and near residential areas.The team from Navelim kicked off their fogging drive on Tuesday. The team is being led by Bento Silva.“This drive will go for a month and will cover all the villages of Salcette. Due to the illegal hutments of migrants in fields the dengue and malaria cases are on a rise in Goa,” said Bento.
While another team from Cumbharjua Constituency carried out mosquito fogging at PDA Colony and Dulapi. “Revolutionary Goans firmly believe that this activity will help to bring down the number of malaria and dengue cases in the state. Our plan is to carry out fogging in the entire Tiswadi taluka,” said Viresh Borkar, who is heading the Cumbharjua team.
Fogging is being carried out in Curtorim constituency where migrants' slums have mushroomed. Revolutionary Goans leader from Curtorim, Johnashua Quadros opines that mosquitoes breed wherever they can and carry the sting of dengue.
