As part of the initiative by the South Goa district administration to clear the pending Forest Rights Cases from the district, the district level committee has cleared around 409 forms from applicants from Cotigao, Cola and Shristhal in Canacona taluka. This was decided at the District Level Committee meeting chaired by the South Goa district Collector, Egna Cleetus, IAS, held to decide the claims received under Forest Rights Act, 2006 from the Sub Divisional Level Committee of Canacona Taluka.
The office of the South Goa district Collector has said that as of now total 3321 claims under Forest Right Act, 2006 has been disposed off in South Goa.
