Range Forest Officer, Soil Conservation Quepem Eusebio Braganza has underscored the need to maintain ecological balance and preserve the same for posterity.
Speaking at the World Forestry Day celebrated at the Cuncolim Fire Station by Soil Conservation Quepem Range, Braganza highlighting the significance of the day and why it needs to be celebrated, sent out a clear message that the forests are the lungs of the planet which decreases the carbon dioxide and increases oxygen thereby helping in maintaining the environmental balance.
Truptesh Naik, Station Fire Officer, Cuncolim highlighted the various repercussions on environment due to deforestation, habitat degradation and the climate change.
He further stated that it is the responsibility of everyone to save the mother earth by planting more trees in return for what we attain from mother earth.
