To commemorate its 16th Foundation Day, the Panaji based Ganga Zuari Academy is presenting a Gala Musical Evening on May 23 at the Taleigao Community Hall. The function will include the release of its annual magazine ‘Unmesh’. Grand musical tributes to Lata Mangeshkar and Bappi Lahiri will see ten finalists shortlisted from a host of participants from all over Goa contesting for the top position in the All Goa Dance Competition. There will be a fitting Ghazal programme ‘Qurbat’- endorsing the essence of closeness. In addition, the academy will bestow the annual Social Goodness Award. The award will go to the Goodwill Efforts Team to recognise their support for the educational needs of less privileged children in the schools of Goa. The function will start at 6.59 pm and is open to all. There will be a food stall to cater to everyone’s taste buds. Minister of Art & Culture Govind Gaude will be the Chief Guest.
