Pernem police on Tuesday arrested a man from Himachal Pradesh on charges of possessing drugs valued at Rs 34,000 at Morjim-Pernem.
According to reports, the Pernem police received a tip regarding a drug pedlar and a team under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi raided a site at Urmalbag-Morjim.
During a search, police is reported to have found Charas valued at Rs 34,000 in the possession of Chander Mani (30) of Tikri-HP.
The accused was arrested under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act and is currently in police custody. Interrogation is currently going on to find out the source of the drugs.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Gajanand Prabhudessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon.
