The Office of the Collector and District Election Officer, North Goa in association with the Office of ERO/AERO 11- Panjim Assembly Constituency organized a Youth Voter Festival at Convention Hall, GCCI, Panjim yesterday.
A Youth Voter Festival was organised, as part of the ongoing SVEEP (Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation) activities during Special Summary Revision 2022 (November 1 - November 30). Around 120 students from 6 educational Institutions participated in the festival. District Election Officer and North Goa Collector Ajit Roy appealed to the citizens to check the EVMs displayed across the State and convince themselves of the robustness and reliability of the system. He said that India has developed a system that is far better and reliable than some of the developed nations. Earlier, Additional Collector II Ms Mamu Hage, IAS inaugurated the festival in the presence of Nodal Officer SVEEP North Goa Dr Gervasio Mendes, OSD Wilfred Goes, Deputy Collector Elections Shubham Naik, ERO Eshant Sawant and AERO Dashrath Gawas. District Youth Icon and ace musician Petrison and his band sang a song urging voters to be vigilant. Natasha Palha, District Youth Icon and international tennis player urged young voters to be responsible voters. During the youth festival various competitions like Electoral Literacy Quiz, poster making, ex- tempore speech were conducted. A street play also performed by Goa College of Theatre Arts emphasizing voter rights.
