Konkani Youth Literary Fest chief elected

PANAJI: The 23rd Konkani Youth Literary Fest, jointly organized by the Goa Konkani Academy and VM Salgaocar College Law, will be held on February 17 and 18, 2024, at Miramar, Panaji. The event will feature workshops, youth awards presentations, and literary discussions.

Anwesha Singbal, elected as the Chairperson, is renowned for her literary achievements and activism, notably winning the Sahitya Akademi Youth Literature Award in 2016 for her poetry collection ‘Sulus’. Serving as the first female president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Singbal is committed to community service, conducting sessions on gender equality and storytelling techniques.

Meghana Kapdi, an Assistant Professor in History with 24 years of teaching experience, will co-chair the event. Recognized for her contributions to education, Kapdi is pursuing a Ph.D. from Goa University. Welcoming guests will be Dyaneshwar Pednekar, an educator with over 45 years of experience, who has received numerous awards, including the National Award for Outstanding Merit in Teaching in 2001. The Literary Fest aims to celebrate Konkani literature and foster youth talent, providing a platform for literary exploration and discussion.
