Librarians play a very important role in imparting knowledge with the latest trends. Librarians should keep themselves updated with digital technology, said Daulat Hawaldar, Ex- Finance Secretary, Govt of Goa. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at a programme held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr SR Ranganathan, father of Library Science which was celebrated as “Librarians Day” recently by the Directorate of Art and Culture, and Krishnadas Shama Goa State Central Library, Panaji. Director of Art and Culture Sagun Velip, Deputy Director / Curator Incharge Ashok Parab and Asst. State Librarian Sulaksha S. Kolmule was also present on the occasion. The half day programme included a book exhibition on Library Science books, motivational talk by Hawaldar, release of annual report of Central Library compiled by library staff. The Vote of thanks was proposed by Kolmule while compering was done by Pradeep Naik, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
