“A Writer can see what the others can't and won't and hence it is the Writer who can bring about a change in the social, political and civil life with his thought provoking writing,” said Govind Gaude, Minister for Art and Culture at the release of the books “Mogachi Paunni’ and ‘Nach’chonam Kumpasar’ authored by Michael Gracias, at the Tiatr Academy Conference Hall recently. Mogachi Paunni is a book on Konkani couplets while ‘Nach’chonam Kumpasar’ is a satire on politics and social life in Goa. Vincy Quadros, President of Dalgado Konknni Academy, while analysing the contents of both books highlighted the political thoughts contained in the political satire Nach’chonam Kumpasar, on how the gullible youth fall prey to the manipulations of the politician misguiding them in the guise of development and providing a remedy to the growing unemployment. Antonio Fernandes, MLA of st Cruz Constituency was the Guest of Honour and Wilfred D’Sa, MLA of Nuvem Constituency presided over the function. In his address D’Sa said that the Writer was not only the pride of his constituency, but the pride of Goa and the Konkani world. Avito Pires e Menezes compered the function.
