PANAJI: Goan poet Bernedita Rosinha Pinto is set to release her fourth poetry book, titled “Our Goa So Full of Sunshine and Splendour,” on April 24, 2024. The book, a testament to Pinto’s deep connection with her homeland, promises to capture the essence of Goa’s culture, heritage, and traditions through her verses.
‘Our Goa So Full of Sunshine and Splendour,’ penned by Pinto, reflects her enduring passion for poetry and her profound love for Goa, her motherland. Pinto’s poetic journey is deeply intertwined with her identity as a Goan, as she eloquently portrays Goa’s natural beauty and cultural richness. “Our beautiful seacoast is so full of sunshine that it summons many people for leisure and recreation,” she writes, highlighting Goa’s timeless allure.
Having worked as an International Teacher in various countries, Pinto draws from her experiences abroad to underscore the universal themes of peace and unity. “I hope the world will return back to peace and its radiance of friendship among nations,” she shares, reflecting on her encounters with families affected by conflict. Despite her extensive travels across the globe, Pinto’s poetic talent remains a constant companion, empowering her to articulate her observations and insights. “My poems surface from the deep ravines of my mind to gain inspiration and amusement,” she muses, likening her creative process to the discovery of pearls in ocean depths.
