An accused who was allegedly involved in mobile snatching from a woman is cooling his heels behind the Maina Curtorim police lock-up.
The police has also managed to recover from the possession of the accused three mobile phones, Vivo, Realme and Samsung. The police has also attached the motorcycle and the helmet the accused was wearing to commit the crime.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the victim Vaishali Gurav along with her husband Vishwas Gurav, resident of Sharda Niwas, Camrexte-Curtorim Salcete had gone for walk on the Curtorim Mugali road.
The accused came on a Pasion bike motorcycle near the sawmill on Curtorim Mugali road snatched away the complainant’s Vivo mobile worth Rs 11,000 from her hand.
During the course of the investigation, the suspected accused person was traced and he disclosed his name as Ismaile @ Ismail Shaikh s/o Allahbaksh Shaikh, age 25 years r/o LIG 06, Tolleband, Davorlim.
He has since been placed under arrest.
