Nigerian held for drugs worth Rs 3 lakh

A Nigerian has been arrested by Mapusa police on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 3 lakh in the wee hours of Tuesday. According to police reports, a Mapusa police team conducted a raid at a site at Parra between 12.45 am and 3 am and nabbed the Nigerian national Michael Odikpo Okafor (41), presently residing at Saligao on charges of illegal possession of 30 gms of Psychotropic Substance suspected to be Cocaine and valued at Rs 3 lakh. The drugs, a car, two mobile phones and cash of Rs 21,000 has been seized from the accused and he has been arrested under the NDPS Act.

MMC councillor nominated as BSNL TAC member

VASCOMormugao Councillor Vinod Sahadev Kinlekar has been nominated for the Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC) for Bharat Sanchar Nigan Limited (BSNL). Kinlekar, who was elected as councillor from Ward 23, was nominated as TAC member for Panaji (Goa) Telecom district. Kinlekar will serve as TAC committee member of the BSNL till January 13, 2024.
