MARGAO: Perpetual Succour Navelim earned the right to enter the semi-finals in both the boys and girls categories defeating Manovikas English School Margao in the All Goa inter-school U-14 football tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa and played at Seraulim Panchayat ground.
In the boys category, Perpetual Succour Navelim defeated Manovikas HS, Margao 3-0.
Catn Fernandes scored a brace in the third and 10th minutes of the first half giving Perpetual Succour a lead of 2-0 at half time. The third goal came in the 43rd minute through Jonass Vaz to seal the fate of Manovikas and ensure a place in the semi-finals.
In the second match, Perpetual Succour Navelim once again beat Manovikas HS Margao 4-0 in the girls category. The highlight of match was a hat-trick by Clea Colaco. Venicia Carvalho scored the fourth goal for Perpetual Succour.
