PORVORIM
Nupur Sinai Narvekar and Swarangi Deepak Gad, students of Std 10 from L D Samant Memorial high school in Porvorim have been selected for the Inspire Awards “ MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge).
These students were selected by the Department of Science and Technology New Delhi (DST). The DST has launched this initiative to foster a culture of innovation and creative thinking amongst school students to address the societal need through science and technology.
Of a total of 39 projects “ 14 from North Goa and 25 from South Goa “ four projects were selected by a panel of judges to participate in the national level exhibition and project competition 2020-21. Of these four projects, two projects were from the students, Nupur Sinai Narvekar and Swarangi Gad from L D Samant Memorial High School, Porvorim. Both students were guided by Mahesh Chari and School Headmaster Mhalsakant Deshpande.
Nupur Narvekar presented project on ‘smart sweeper cum sanitiser robot’, while Swarangi Gad presented a project on ‘UV door handle cleaner’.
