PANAJIFood Bank For The Poor, Sangolda, under the aegis of Street Providence Trust organised a protest at Azad Maidan, Panaji on Friday. The protest was held to draw the attention of the Director of FDA to the fact that everyday more than 5000kgs of excess fresh food is being thrown in the dustbin across Goa by Corporate canteens and other food points. Food Bank For The Poor, Sangolda, is eager to pick up all of this food through its volunteers located across Goa. However for this to be a reality, the FDA Director, needs to invite all stakeholders and Food Bank, Sangolda and work out the modalities for this to be a reality, states a press release.
