A 48-year-old motorcycle rider from Housing Board Colony in Upasnagar-Sancoale died of injuries he had sustained in a road mishap at Sancoale on January 29. According to Investigating Officer Verna PSI Shridhar S Kamat, the rider, Vacchidas Morajkar, was riding a motorcycle from MES College Junction to Birla Market at about 8.30 am on January 29.
“When Morajkar reached near the Shantadurga Ghumti, the rider fell from his motorcycle and sustained injuries to his face, head and chest. He was shifted by a 108 Ambulance to the Chicalim Sub District Hospital and later referred to GMC Bambolim, where he died while undergoing treatment,” said PSI Kamat.
"We received details about the death of Morajkar in the GMC hospital. Verna police on Monday registered a case of unnatural death under Section 174 CrPC,” he added.
