Akash Shankar Rathod (24), a native of Karnataka but residing at Oshelbagh-Dhargal died of injuries after a road mishap on the highway near Hotel Preeti International in Camarkhazan-Mapusa on December 1 at around 6.45 pm.Akash and his friend, Amit Rathod, were riding a motorcycle on the national highway from Anjuna to Dhargal via Guirim. On the way, Akash lost control of the bike and the vehicle hit the divider. Both the bike riders were injured in the accident. Akash Rathod was shifted to the GMC hospital, while Amit Rathod was treated at the Mapusa District Hospital and discharged by the doctors. Akash Rathod died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at GMC hospital. Mapusa police are conducting further investigation.
