Samarpan Sabha win tie-breaker

MAJORDA: Samarpan Sabha emerged as the winner of the U-15 years boy's football tie-breaker tournament , organised by Kaykee Youth Club, Dongorim Majorda.

Samarpan Sabha defeated Prem Yadav by 2-1 in the finals.

A total of 26 boys took part in the tie-breaker tournament from St. Anthony's HS, Majorda, Our Lady of Lourdes HS, Utorda and Angel Ashram Verna.

Laura Braganza, Headmistress of St Anthony's HS was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Shreehari Kerkar, PE Teacher, Anjulo P. Fernandes, Chairperson of Kaykee Youth Club and other dignitaries.

MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda blanked United Club of Benaulim 2-0 to move to the quarter-finals of the Navelim Villagers Union Trophy, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.Benaulim's Nicole Rodrigues missed a chance to score in the ninth and the 26th minutes.Fatorda's Hanshlum Furtado's powerful shot was punched away to safety by the Benaulim goalkeeper. Fatorda netted two quick goals through Mario Noronha and Michael Dias in the 55th and 60th minutes respectively.
