MARGAO: Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club got the better of Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim 4-2 in the GFA First Division League match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Sao Jose de Areal dominated the game and pushed their opponent on the back foot Regan Costa punted the ball to the far corner of the game in the 12th minute. However, their joy was shortlived and Cindroy Furtado cancelled the lead in the 21st minute for Cavelossim. At the stroke of half-time, Regan Costa regained the lead for Sao Jose de Areal.
The second half belonged to Sao Jose de Areal as they toyed with the rival defence however Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim level the score through Dezlan Passana in the 53rd minute.
Sao Jose de Areal were dominant and in the 80th minute Stalen Oliveira made it 3-2. Aran Matheus Endro rounded off the tally in the 89th minute.
