Sub-divisional Magistrate, Margao Ganesh Barve has issued a no objection certificate for handing over the mortal remains of late Sumanta Fernandes to her mother, Ana Maria Dias, for the purpose of conducting the final rites at St Joseph Church, Sao Jose de Areal, on October 18 at 3:30 PM onwards. The deputy Collector passed the order following an application field by Ana Maria Dias dated October 8, 2025 with a request to the Court to pass necessary orders for handing over the mortal remains of her daughter, late Sumanta Fernandes, to enable the conduct of final rites at St. Joseph Church, Sao Jose de Areal on 18/10/2025 at 3:30 PM onwards. Late Sumanta Fernandes had expired on 29/08/2023, pursuant to which an Unnatural Death UD case No. 40/2023 u/s 176 CrPc was registered by the Maina Curtorim police.
