VASCO
The second of the four P-8I aircraft, being inducted by the Indian Navy as a follow up to the first batch of eight aircraft, was delivered by Boeing at INS Hansa Goa on Tuesday. The aircraft was received by Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil, Flag Officer Naval Aviation. After a joint inspection by the Indian Navy and Boeing, the aircraft will undergo indigenous equipment fitment and subsequent Flight Acceptance Trials. The Indian Navy had acquired the first batch of eight P-8I aircraft in 2013 which are stationed at INS Rajali in Arakkonam. The second batch of four additional aircraft will be based at Goa.
