The 48th Installation Ceremony of Lions Club of Calangute and Leo club of Calangute was held recently. Lion Murtaza Matheranwala and Leo Sagar Lawande were installed as Presidents respectively alongwith their Board of Directors for the Lionistic Year 2021-2022 by Installing Officer Past International Director & International 3rd VP Endorsee PMJF Lion VV Krishna Reddy.
During the ceremony, eight new Lions and two new Leo members were inducted in the club by Induction Officer Past District Governor MJF Lion Vasudev Valawalkar. The newly installed Club President Lion Murtaza Matheranwala in his acceptance speech said that he will serve the society and keep the flag of Lionism high & stress on Environmental and health related projects.Leo President Leo Sagar Lawande in his acceptance speech brought out his main aim of training the Leos in Leadership & Personality Development programmes. The club felicitated Health Officer of Candolim PHC Dr Roshan Nazareth for his dedicated service during covid pandemic and also honoured meritorious students. PMJF Lion Michael Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks. The function was ably compared by MJF Lion Tanvi Valawalkar & Leo Sarah Rajabali.
