MARGAO: Spring Boys Mandopa made way to semifinals by defeating Micon Warriors Margao 2-1 in the 4th all Goa inter-village open football tournament, organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Davorlim club ground, Laymati, on Wednesday.
Spring Boys Mandopa showed urgency to find the net and succeeded in ninth minute through Velington Almeida with a curling shot that beat goalkeeper Melfern Pereira.
Changing over, Micon Warriors found the equaliser in 39th minute through a neat placement by Charles Miranda but Prestly Gomes of Spring Boys Mandopa sealed the fate of Micon Warriors Margao in the 56th minute with a left footer volley.
