Department of Zoology, Carmel College organized a Community Outreach Programme, a talk on ‘Common Winter Ailments in Children’ by Dr Lorraine Costa Fernandes D’Sa, MD (Paediatrics) on December 5 at Nuvem Panchayat Hall.The event received a great response with many parents and children in attendance from Nuvem and nearby villages. Dr Sr Maria Lizanne AC, Principal of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce welcomed the guest speaker and one of the beneficiaries presented a potted plant to Dr D’Sa. Dr Lorraine D’sa gave a talk on winter ailments like common cold, influenza and the necessary actions and measures to be taken by parents and children to order to avoid these illnesses. After the talk, Dr Lorraine conducted a brief counselling for all participants. Principal Dr Sr Maria Lizanne gave a token of appreciation to Dr Lorraine D’Sa for engaging in community outreach programme in Nuvem village on a very important topic.
