OLD GOA
Staring at a huge amount of waste left behind from the feast fair, the Se Old Goa panchayat finally started clearing the garbage.
When The Goan visited Old Goa on Saturday, it was seen that the labourers employed by the panchayat were clearing the leftover waste from the feast fair.
Apart from the labourers, the VP also put into service a JCB machine to clear the bags of waste which had accumulated at various places.
It may be recalled that The Goan had highlighted that huge amount of waste was piling in and around Old Goa as the stalls of the feast fair, which were supposed to be dismantled after December 4, stayed put even after the deadline got over.
Later, the panchayat moved in and demolished some stalls after which the allottees started dismantling the structures on their own.
With the stalls gone, the panchayat started the process of clearing the waste.
