Verna police on Sunday arrested a youth from Vasco on charges of possessing 63 gms of Ganja worth Rs 6,300. According to information, the accused Shivpratap Halwai (24) was nabbed at the parking area outside BITS Pilani Campus, Sancoale, in a narcotics raid conducted by PSI Sanket Talkar. The ganja was found in the dickey of a scooter. An offence has been registered at Verna police station and Halwai has been arrested under the NDPS Act. PSI Pravin Simepurushkar of Verna police station is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Diogo Gracias and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Rajesh Kumar.
Percussionist Carlos Gonsalves felicitated in Mapusa
PANAJIGoa’s acclaimed percussionist Carlos Gonsalves was felicitated by the Lions Club of Mapusa on September 24 in recognition of his contribution to music.
