VASCO: On the occasion of ‘World Wetland Day’, the Eco-Club of Regina Mundi High School at Chicalim in collaboration with Goa State Council of Science and Technology organised a programme on ‘Let’s Celebrate Wetlands’ on February 2.
The programme aimed at educating students about the significance of wetland ecosystem in maintaining biodiversity, supporting livelihood and mitigating the impact of climate change.
A total of three activities were conducted for the students of Class 5“10 which included a poster-making competition on the theme ‘Wetlands are wonderful’, crafting a 3D “ crippy creature.
Accompanied by their teachers, a total of 55 students took a short walk trip to the Lotus Lake at Chicalim where they were joined by a renowned botanist, passionate environmental activist Rev Dr Bolmax Pereira who currently serves as an assistant professor at St Joseph Vaz College Cortalim.
