‘Pandemics: Past, Present, Future’, a discussion at ICG on May 5

At ICG Discussion Forum at the International Centre Goa at Dona Paula, there will be a conversation on ‘Pandemics: Past, Present, Future’ on May 5 at 4.30 pm. The conversation is between   Thomas Abraham, honorary associate professor, Journalism and Media Studies Centre, University of Hong Kong and Chinmay Tumbe, assistant professor, IIM-Ahmedabad Live on Zoom and one can register at: bit.ly/3dv4qvH. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Pushkar, director, ICG.

Abraham who works in the areas of risk communication during infectious disease epidemics, the role of the media in communicating risk and infectious diseases, and global health security, has been a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organisations on risk communication, and worked at WHO headquarters in Geneva during the influenza pandemic. Tumbe, a faculty member in the Economics Area at IIM-Ahmedabad, is a member of the The Lancet Covid-19 India Taskforce and has two books, ‘India Moving: A History of Migration’ (2018) and ‘The Age of Pandemics, 1817-1920: How they shaped India and the World’ (2020) to his credit.
