D’Souza, complainant Savio Dias has said he is happy as well as sad that the Minister has ruled in favour of demolition of the illegal structure of the former MMC chairperson.
“I am happy about the order because justice has finally prevailed. And at the same time, I am sad that it took more than two years for the Urban Development Minister to pass the order in the case,” Savio told The Goan.
The Margao Municipal Council had two years ago on March 23, 2015 directed Gonzaco to raze the illegal structure, but he got a huge relief from the Urban Development Minister after D’Souza passed an ex-parte order on April 2, 2015 staying the operation of the MMC demolition order.
