Hyderabad couple alleges assault over bike rental dispute in Goa

PANAJI: A dispute over bike rental charges at the Panaji bus stand allegedly escalated into an assault on a tourist couple from Hyderabad.

According to the victims, who reported the matter to the police, they rented a bike and returned it on time. However, the rental operators allegedly demanded an additional Rs 200.

When the couple questioned the extra charge, a verbal argument broke out, which soon escalated into a scuffle.

The man claims he was assaulted by a group of men, leaving him with head injuries. He further alleged that his pregnant wife was also attacked, resulting in swelling on her cheek. The couple was later shifted to the Goa Medical College for treatment. 

Police are yet to reveal details of the case including registration of FIR and arrest, if any.
