63 new cases, no deaths recorded on Wednesday

No Covid related deaths were recorded in Goa on Wednesday. As a result, the total Covid victim count remains at 768.

A total of 63 new cases of the infection were detected from among the 1,774 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

While the total number of samples tested for the virus in the state has crossed 4.54 lakh, the total confirmed cases have now touched 53,638 of which 52,109 have recovered and 761 are presently active. The recovery rate stands at 97.14 per cent.

A total of 28,481 persons have opted to recover under home isolation so far in Goa.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive continued on Wednesday with a total of 904 HCWs being vaccinated across the state. A total of 384 HCWs were vaccinated in North Goa and 520 from South Goa. The Directorate of Health Services informed that while 316 were vaccinated from the portal, 455 were vaccinated from the due list.

Of these, 574 were vaccinated in North Goa while 339 in South Goa.

Till Wednesday, a total of 5,755 HCWs have been given a shot of the ‘Covidshield’ vaccine across various centres in the state.
