Any student intending to pursue a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) with specializations: Painting and Applied Art need not go out of Goa as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Monday inaugurated these courses in the campus of Goa College of Arts, Altinho. The two specializations further offer Painting & Murals as special subjects under Painting section and Communication Design and Illustration under Applied Art section.
The courses recently commenced with total enrollment of five students each in Painting, Mural, Communication Design subjects and four students for Illustration for the academic year 2020-2021.
“There is wide scope for career in Arts and it’s a golden opportunity for the Goan enthusiast to pursue these courses in their own State. The Government will work hard to provide best infrastructure at Art College. My best wishes to its staff and students who have enrolled in the new courses,” the Chief Minister said. He also inaugurated the classrooms and laboratories and took an account of the facilities made available to the students.
Director, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Vivek Kamat, Asst Director Vivek Belokar, Acting Principal of the College Asst Professor Smita Prabhudessai, Mahesh Vengurlekar and Sanjay Harmalkar along with faculty and students of the Art College were present on the occasion.
Earlier the programme began by lighting the traditional lamp. Prof Prabhudessai gave the welcome address. Maria Ferreira compered and proposed the vote of thanks.
